Kamala Harris' VP Win Shatters the Glass Ceiling for Women

After days of vote-counting, major US media news outlets called the US Presidential race to be in Joe Biden’s favour over the weekends. With Joe Biden’s victory being called, Kamala Harris shattered the glass ceiling and paved the way for women in areas traditionally dominated by men to become the first female, first black and first South Asian vice-president elect in the U.S.

“While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,” she told a cheering audience in her historic victory speech. “Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.”

Kamala Harris’ Vice President win turned the impossible to the possible, and the strong message of hope it sends out is one that I strongly resonate with as a female leader and entrepreneur. If you can’t get a chair at the table, bring your own folding chair. I have always believed in dreaming with ambition and leading with conviction, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for female leaders, especially after this monumental breakthrough.
